Quotes 2 be seen
"Quotes 2 Be Seen" is a series of posters with inspirational and empowering quotes by and for women. I got inspired for this series while watching Gina Martin's TED Talk. She showed a quote that really resonated with me and I felt like that there are more quotes out there that should be seen.
I started drawing random lines and then filling them in. The colors for Gina Martin's quotes were easy, red and pink were her signature colors at that time. For the rest of the series it was a process to get to the muted color pallette shown. While creating I always had those words in my mind. Because the background turned out to be a bit show stealing I knew the font had to be strong, modern and easily readable.
